Announcement on Conditions of Issuance MRT Pink Line

1. Definitions

“System Transition” means a transition from one route to another route within the transfer using the same ticket.
“Paid Area” means an area that uses the ticket to enter or leave from train station.
“Child” means a person who is not older than 14 years of age as show in Citizen ID card.
“Ticket” means Card, document, electronic method Including other things that is used to indicate the right to use the train services.
“Single Journey Ticket _Normal” means Ticket that can be used for one trip travel according to the distance and ticket value purchased.
“Single Journey Ticket_Free” means Ticket that can be used for one trip travel without fare charged.
“Single Journey Ticket_Discount” means Ticket that can be used for one trip travel according to the distance and ticket value for a person who has eligibility to get discount.
“Student” means Persons with ages not exceeding 23 years as show in the citizen ID card, shall present the student ID to the company’s representative upon requisition.
“NBM” means Northern Bangkok Monorail Company Limited; the MRT Pink Line concessionaire.
“Rabbit Card” means a card or any other products that the Company allows to be used with the Standards and Systems of Rabbit for payment of Qualified Goods and Services provided by Authorized Service Providers, including other cards or any other products from other parties which comply with the Standards and Systems of Rabbit and permission from the company.
“Senior” means Thai citizen with 60 years of age upward as show in the citizen ID card, shall present the citizen ID to the company’s representative upon requisition.
“MRT Yellow Line” means MRT Nakkhara Phiphat Line
“MRTA” means Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand
“System” or “MRT Pink Line” means MRT Pink Line Project Khae Rai – Min Buri Section and Extension Si Rat Station – Muang Thong
“BTS” means Bangkok Mass Transit System (Green Line) concession section (23.5 km.) and its extensions.
“Standard Rabbit” means a rabbit lent to the Rabbit Holder by the Company and for which the Company may collect the Deposit from Rabbit Holder.
“Corporate Rabbit” means a rabbit sold and provided by the Company to another entity to sell, transfer or distribute to the Rabbit Holders.
“Special Rabbit” means a rabbit issue by the Company and sold directly to the Rabbit Holder for a specified event or sold to another entity to sell, transfer or distribute to the Rabbit Holders.
“Co-branded Rabbit” means a card or any other device issued by the Authorized Issuer under the Standards and Systems of Rabbit. The Co-branded Rabbit can also perform other services as specified by the relevant Authorized Issuer.

2. Persons eligible for fare exemption and fare discount

  1. 2.1 The following persons shall be exempted from paying the fare;
    1. Children with a height not more than 90 cm.
    2. Persons with disabilities who has got identification card issued by public sector, i.e., The National Office for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
  2. 2.2 The following person shall be entitled for fare discount
    1. A person who has Thai nationality with 60-year of ages upwards as counting from birth date shown on the citizen ID card, will get half fare rate from the fare table announcement.

3. Ticket Types and Conditions of Usage

  • 3.1 Single Journey Ticket
    • 3.1.1 Single Journey Ticket_Normal are available at Automatic Ticket Issuing Machines or Ticket Sales Points during the period as specified by the Company in relevant Schedule of this Announcement or from other sources as specified by the Company.
    • 3.1.2 Single Journey Ticket_Free, the exempted person regarding clause 2.1 can request for free ticket issuance at the Ticket Office only.
    • 3.1.3 Single Journey Ticket_Discount, the exempted person regarding clause 2.2 can request for discount ticket issuance at the Ticket Office only.
    • 3.1.4 Single Journey Ticket shall be valid for one single journey in the System in accordance with the value and distance selected by the Passenger upon purchase of the Single Journey Ticket from an Automatic Ticket Issuing Machine or Ticket Office or Ticket Sales Point.
    • 3.1.5 Single Journey Ticket can be used to travel from MRT Pink Line throughout BTS Green Line/MRT Pink Line and vice versa.
    • 3.1.6 Single Journey Ticket shall be used within the service hours of the System on the date of purchase; otherwise, such Single Journey Ticket shall expire (“Ticket Expired”).
    • 3.1.7 Single Journey Ticket_Normal and Single Journey Ticket_Discount is refundable as per the value recorded in such Single Journey Ticket_Normal, which shall be deemed conclusive evidence in the following cases;
      • (a) Passenger, who purchases the Single Journey Ticket_Normal or Single Journey Ticket_Discount and has not yet entered to the Paid Area or,
      • (b) Passenger, who purchases the Single Journey Ticket_Normal or Single Journey Ticket_Discount and has already entered to the Paid Area but decided to leave off at the same station within 5 minutes from entering time, can contact the station staff (within Paid Area) to return the ticket.
    • 3.1.8 Refund under Clause 3.1.7 shall be performed within the service hours of the Ticket Office, as specified in relevant Schedule of this Announcement, on the issuing date of such Single Journey Ticket, by submitting such Single Journey Ticket to the Company’s employee at the Ticket Office, in accordance with the procedures as specified by the Company. Single Journey Ticket_Free cannot be refunded.
    • 3.1.9 Single Journey Ticket_Normal and Single Journey Ticket_Discount that expired, can be refunded within 14 days from the date of issued and can be made at the station of purchasing only.
    • 3.1.10 In case of Single Journey Ticket value is insufficient or excessive for the distance traveled;
      • (a) In case of Single Journey Ticket value is insufficient for the distance traveled the Passenger shall pay the difference in Fare at the Ticket Office or other place specified by the Company, before leaving the Paid Area.
      • (b) In case of Single Journey Ticket value is more than the fare distance traveled the Passenger can leave from the Paid Area and will not get any refund of the remaining value.
    • 3.1.11 Passenger with impaired or damaged Single Journey Ticket, who is unable to pass the Automatic Gate, shall return the impaired or damaged Single Journey Ticket to the Company’s employee for issuing another Single Journey Ticket of equivalent value for exiting the Paid Area (in case remaining value of such impaired or damaged Single Journey Ticket can be verified). Issuance of another Single Journey Ticket for this purpose shall rest upon the sole discretion of the Company and be in accordance with the procedures as specified by the Company. The Company reserves the right to collect an administration fee for such issuance of another Single Journey Ticket.
    • 3.1.12 Single Journey Ticket which is issued and distributed by the Company to Passengers without charge on special occasion and/or upon special condition, cannot be exchanged or refunded for cash /any other values and is not eligible for issuance of replacement ticket in any cases.
  • 3.2 Rabbit Card
    • 3.2.1 There are 4 main types of Rabbit Card (“Rabbit”) as following;
        (a) Standard Rabbit
        (b) Corporate Rabbit
        (c) Special Rabbit
        (d) Co-Branded Rabbit
        There are 4 sub types for each main type of Rabbit i.e.
        (1) Adult Rabbit
        (2) Student Rabbit eligible applicants must be “Student”
        (3) Senior Rabbit eligible applicants must be “Senior”
        (4) Child Rabbit eligible applicants must be “Child”

        Terms of use for these particular types and fines for violation of terms of use are prescribed in relevant Schedule of this Announcement regarding Conditions of Use of Rabbits.

    • 3.2.2 Types of Rabbits and usage are prescribed in the Conditions of Issuance of Rabbits of Bangkok Smartcard System Company Limited or otherwise specified by the Company.
    • 3.2.3 Rabbit consists of 3 stored value elements as following;
      • (a) Stored Value is the amount of remaining electronic money stored in Rabbit.
        1. Stored Value can be added into Rabbit at any Ticket Office or Automatic Ticket Issuing Machines during service hours as specified in relevant Schedule of this Announcement, or other sources as specified by the Company.
        2. Stored Value shall automatically decrease in accordance with the distance traveled. Any remaining Stored Value excluding issuing fee and/or deposit (if any) can be validated through the amount which has been recorded in form of digital code and deemed conclusive evidence. The remaining Stored Value shall be displayed on the Automatic Gate when the Passenger exits the Paid Area.
        3. Stored Value shall not be less than the minimum fare that MRT Pink Line allow to access the system as announced. Passenger travels more than the remaining Stored Value, will result to negative balance, passengers still can leave from the Paid Area but Rabbit Card shall not be used for the next travel unless the Rabbit Card has been added value at Ticket Office, the Automatic Ticket Issuing Machine during service hours or other places as specified by the Company.
        4. Stored Value can be added into a valid Rabbit in accordance with the conditions specified by Bangkok Smartcard System Company Limited.
        5. Passenger who has entered to the Paid Area but decided to leave off at the same station within 5 minutes from entering time, can contact the station staff (within Paid Area) to adjust the card status with no deduction when leaving.
        6. Refund of Stored Value and/or deposit (if applicable) are prescribed in the Conditions of Issuance of Rabbits announced by Bangkok Smartcard System Company Limited. Refunding Stored Value and/or deposit shall rescind right for return of remaining Specific Transit Pass or common Transit Pass, right for exchange of new Ticket, or for transfer to another Ticket, or for exchange of other value.
      • (b) “Specific Transit Pass” of MRT Pink Line
        1. Stored trips can be added to or redeemed from Rabbit as prescribed by the Company at any Ticket Office, during service hours as specified by the Company in the Schedule of Announcement regarding Service Hours, Paid Area, and Fines or from other sources as specified by the Company.
        2. Stored trips shall be used for travel within 45 days from the date of stored trips being added into Rabbit. Any remaining stored trips left unused after such period shall be automatically cancelled and cannot be used for travel, until new stored trips are added into Rabbit.
        3. Stored trips can be used for travel per number of stored trips added, or within 30 days from the date of first usage, whichever occurs earlier and without limitation of distance travelled. Upon expiry, Rabbit cannot be used for travelling in the System, and remaining stored trips cannot be refunded, exchanged for new Rabbit, transferred to another Rabbit, or exchanged for other value.
        4. Stored trips can be added into a valid Rabbit, in accordance with the amount and procedures as specified by the Company.
        5. Stored trips in Rabbit are non-refundable.
        6. In case Rabbit contains both Stored Value and Specific Transit Pass, Specific Transit Pass shall be deducted to pay Fare first. Until all Specific Transit Pass in Rabbit is used up then Stored Value in Rabbit shall be deducted to pay Fare.
      • (C) Common Transit Pass means transit pass for travel within the System, in collaboration with other transit system in the future, in accordance with the conditions to be specified by the Company and/or business partners of the Company.
    • 3.2.4 The Company reserves the right to deduct any fine, fee, or administration expense payable by Passenger under the conditions prescribed in relevant Schedule of this Announcement regarding Service Hours, Paid Area, and Fines from remaining Stored Value of Rabbit
    • 3.2.5 In case Passenger, with impaired or damaged Rabbit, is unable to pass the Automatic Gate, such Passenger shall pay Fare in accordance with the conditions and procedures specified by the Company. Such impaired or damaged Rabbit shall be handled in accordance with the Conditions of Issuance announced by Bangkok Smartcard System Company Limited.
    • 3.2.6 If a Rabbit is suspected of being lost or stolen or if the Company has reasonable grounds to suspect misuse, the Company’s employee, authorized representatives and authorized service provider shall have the right to inspect Rabbit, including data in Rabbit, and the right to confiscate Rabbit from Rabbit holder.
    • 3.2.7 Any Passenger who has lost Rabbit and needs to suspend use of Rabbit and/or Passenger who intends to refund remaining Stored Value in Rabbit for cash, shall comply with the “Conditions of Issuance” specified by Bangkok Smartcard System Company Limited. The responsibility for loss and damage against “Stored Value”, “Specific Transit Pass” and “Common Transit Pass” on registered Rabbit, shall comply with the specified requirements of Bangkok Smartcard System Company Limited.

  • 3.3 Other Tickets
  • The Company may make available and/or accept other types of ticket for payment of Fare under conditions that the Company shall announce via this QR Code and/or at Station for public acknowledgement.

4. Each Ticket is valid for use by one Passenger.

5. Unless otherwise stated in Clause 3.1.7, any Passenger who entered and exited the Paid Area at the same station shall pay Fare in accordance with the Fare rate as specified by the Company in relevant Schedule of this Announcement.

6. Any Passenger who entered and stayed in the Paid Area beyond the time limit as specified in relevant Schedule of this Announcement shall pay penalty at specified rate.

7. Any Passenger who lost Ticket whilst staying in the Paid Area shall pay fine to the Company before exiting the Paid Area, in accordance with rates and procedures specified by the Company.

8. Entering or exiting the Paid Area shall be recorded sequentially in the Ticket and shall be deemed conclusive evidence. A Ticket, with record of entry in a Paid Area, shall retain record of exit from a Paid Area for each journey. Any Passenger who used a Ticket in any of following manners e.g., Passenger holding Ticket with only record of entry into a Paid Area, without record of exit from Paid Area or vice versa; or used a Ticket to enter or exit Paid Area twice in the same moment, the Company reserves the right to collect fine from such Passenger for misuse of Ticket in accordance with the rates and procedures specified by the Company.

9. Any Passenger in the Paid Area shall present Ticket for checking, inspection, or verification at any time upon demand by the Company’s representative. Any person found to have contravened the aforementioned statement shall be regarded as not having paid Fare and shall be liable to pay fine.

10. Legal proceedings may be taken against any person who misused Ticket or violated any of the Conditions of Issuance. If investigation is necessary, the Company reserves the right to confiscate Ticket from the Ticket holder without refund of the remaining Stored Value.

11. The Company shall not certify validity of Ticket, which was not issued by the Company or by a person duly authorized by the Company.

12. The Company reserves the right to charge issuing fee and administrative fee for issuing Ticket to replace impaired or damaged Ticket in all cases.

13. The Company reserves the right to modify or amend the Conditions of Issuance under this Announcement. The Company shall from time to time notify such modification or amendment.

14. For Passenger claiming to have lost Ticket, the Company shall take no responsibility to suspend Stored Trips or Stored Value being claimed to remain in such Ticket, or to compensate in any case
